Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 7, 2026
Prized Plants works because people contribute honestly and treat each other well. These guidelines describe what we expect — they apply to plant suggestions, corrections, photos, and every other contribution as those features open.
Welcome beginners
Prized Plants is for serious collectors and for someone hunting their first special plant. Be helpful and respectful — nobody should be made to feel they don't know enough to belong here. When correcting plant information, correct the information, not the person.
Be honest about plant information
Only contribute what you actually know, and say where it comes from. Cite sources where you can. Don't present a guess as fact, don't claim a plant is verified or authentic without evidence, and don't call a plant rare without context. Uncertainty stated plainly is a contribution; confident misinformation is not.
Respect privacy
Never share someone else's private information — their collection, what they paid, where they live, or where their plants are kept. Growing locations are sensitive: publicly pinpointing where valuable plants live puts both plants and people at risk.
No marketplace activity yet
Prized Plants has no marketplace in this phase. Don't use plant pages or suggestions to advertise plants for sale, solicit buyers, or create urgency. Marketplace features will arrive in a future phase with their own rules.
Keep it plant-first
Contributions should help people discover, understand, and grow plants. Spam, off-topic promotion, harassment, and content unrelated to plants don't belong here.
Moderation
Plant suggestions, corrections, and public photos are reviewed by moderators before they are published. Content that breaks these guidelines may be rejected or removed, and repeated or serious violations may restrict an account. Moderation decisions include a reason.
